Join the Nightlife: 2024 Recap

Thanks to all the Join the Nightlife: Bats and Agriculture attendees who joined us out in the field this year! Guests got hands-on experience with Texas bats, mist netting, bat acoustics, bat houses, and joined MTBC (and Merlin) for an exclusive tour of Bracken Cave to watch the largest bat colony in the world take to the skies during their nightly emergence. This 5-day workshop was led by bat and conservation experts, Merlin Tuttle and Janet Tyburec. Pecan and agriculture expert, Troy Swift, led the bat house building workshop and gave tours of his property.

Enjoy some of our favorite photos from the workshop below, and watch our events page so you can grab your tickets when they go on sale in 2025. If you couldn’t join this year, please take a look at our blog post from last year’s event with more detailed information about this workshop.
